Looking for good beer and a parade with goats?...

Give Back at the Theater:

On Saturday March 13th at 2:00 pm, GBC is going to attend Broadway's longest running comedy, Alfred Hitchcock's "The 39 Steps". It is an excellent opportunity to meet and mingle with many of the GBC members... Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have...(mystery chords!) THE 39 STEPS, Broadway's most intriguing, most thrilling, most riotous comedy smash! The mind-blowing cast of 4 plays over 150 characters in this fast-paced tale of an ordinary man on an extraordinarily entertaining adventure. Tickets are $30 each thanks to the efforts of our social committee.

After the play,  all are encouraged to make their way over to "FB's" for a chance to mingle with fellow Give Back folks.  Attire for the event will be "dressy casual/business casual."  All are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance by following the link below as the event is due to sell out.  We look forward to seeing you at the theater!!  (FYI.. we will have your tickets and will email you with further details within a few days of the event.  For now, buy your tickets and know that you will have a great time with us next Saturday afternoon and early evening)

Purchase tickets for the event here!!!

Sounding Sessions: A Tale of Two Neighborhoods

Over 60 people gathered at the Historic Verona Design Center in Walnut Hills to discuss the process of community revitalization, the revitalization efforts in surrounding communities and the necessary milestones for transformation. With support from the Walnut Hills and Oakley community councils, the City's Community Development Office, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful and the owner of Habits and 20th Century Theater we were able to have a well rounded and informative discussion on what we can do to support the success of our communities.

Special thank you to Alpine Valley for providing water and gourmet coffee and to Parkside Cafe for assisting with the sandwiches, Walnut Hills Working Group for providing such a beautiful location for our event. Lastly but not least, thank you to all the panel members: Kathy Atkinson, Rick Hardy, Liz McEwan, Sean Stallo, Matt Jones and Mark Rogers.

ATTENTION to all about Freedom Project...

The Commitment Process for Freedom Project 2010 (freedomprojectcincinnati.org) is supposed to be closed, however due to a technical issue with one of our questions (i.e. not allowing an option to show that you may be new to Freedom Project), there were several "blank" forms.   In other words, those who are brand new to Freedom Project are likely those who may have been affected, and their data was not saved in the survey.

If you are someone who wanted to participate, or you have a friend / co-worker / acquaintance who did not receive a confirmation email, please ask them to complete the Commitment Form on Survey Monkey one more time. The form will be available through Monday, March 8th.

Fill out the commitment form here!!!

We apologize for this inconvenience,
Your Freedom Project 2010 Team :-)

Bockfest this weekend!

Cincinnati is the home to the world's oldest Bock festival, but many Cincinnatians are unaware of this tradition. If you are one of the unfortunate who have never attended a Bockfest (or who have but can't really remember that weekend) here's a quick primer. In the 1800s, Cincinnati was one of America's most prolific brewing cities. Cincinnatians drank more beer per capita than any city in the country, and Over-the-Rhine was at one point home to more than 18 breweries. A tradition developed among the breweries to release all of their bock beer on the same day. Bock beer is a rich, complex, robust lager that marks the end of the Winter brewing season and the beginning of Spring. Bockfest.com
