Need a reprieve after Bockfest? Head to the theater...

Give Back at the Theater:

This Saturday March 13th at 2:00 pm, GBC is going to attend Broadway's longest running comedy, Alfred Hitchcock's "The 39 Steps". It is an excellent opportunity to meet and mingle with many of the GBC members... Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have...(mystery chords!) THE 39 STEPS, Broadway's most intriguing, most thrilling, most riotous comedy smash! The mind-blowing cast of 4 plays over 150 characters in this fast-paced tale of an ordinary man on an extraordinarily entertaining adventure. Tickets are $30 each thanks to the efforts of our social committee.

After the play,  all are encouraged to make their way over to "FB's" for a chance to mingle with fellow Give Back folks.  Attire for the event will be "dressy casual/business casual."  All are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance by following the link below as the event is due to sell out.  We look forward to seeing you at the theater!!  (FYI.. we will have your tickets and will email you with further details within a few days of the event.  For now, buy your tickets and know that you will have a great time with us next Saturday afternoon and early evening)

Community Immersion - Walnut Hills

A Community Immersion event is a way to intimately get to know a community that you might not yet have truly experienced, but needs our attention.  On April 10th, we will be exploring the community of Walnut Hills.  As we discussed in the Sounding Sessions on February 23rd and 24th, Walnut Hills is currently undergoing a slow and steady process of community revitalization.  Through this community immersion, we will dig deeper into the businesses and organizations that line the streets of Walnut Hills.  We will interact with members of the neighborhood and for an hour or so, we will get our hands dirty while directly helping with a community project.  If you were, or were not able to join us for our Sounding Sessions on community revitalization, this event would be the perfect opportunity to witness revitalization efforts first hand.  We hope you can join us!

Leave Saturday, April 10th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM open on your calendar.  More details and registration to open up as we get closer to the event.  In the meantime, check out Walnut Hills @ www.walnuthills.us & www.whbizassn.org

Give Back Cincinnati Young Executives' Summary:

This week:

Saturday: Give Back at the Theater - 2:00 PM

Give Back Cincinnati’s 9th Annual Paint the Town will be coming to two neighborhoods, Avondale and Evanston, on Saturday, June 12, 2010.  Avondale & Evanston’s Community Councils will serve as community partners for this year’s event, providing a valued connection and assistance between residents and the Paint the Town organization.

"Avondale and Evanston is a new opportunity for Paint the Town and builds upon the success each of these communities have had with their revitalization efforts.  The June event will be a catalyst to continue that momentum and change the look and feel of the community… all done with volunteers,” said Brent Nawroth, chair of Paint the Town.  Adam Luthman, who is charged with finding future PTT locations said, “Evanston and Avondale made hosting Paint the Town one of their goals in a broader context of making their communities even better.  The recent progress within each community demonstrates the effectiveness of their leadership."

"Avondale is elated to be selected for Paint the Town 2010.  Fresh coats of paint for a number of our homeowners will be a blessing and have a positive impact on the ongoing work to beautify our community and improve the lives of our residents,” said Patricia Milton of Avondale’s Community Council.  “We are diligently working to make Avondale an attractive, welcoming and great place to live, work, worship and play!  We are looking forward to working with Give Back Cincinnati and plan to take up our paint brushes and help get the job done."

Anzora Adkins, President of the Evanston Community Council, believes it will allow Evanston to see a physical improvement in the community. “Evanston will be on the move again.  We are so excited and thankful for Give Back Cincinnati to paint homes in our community."
