Community Immersion - Walnut Hills

Walnut Hills is rich with arts and culture, history and philanthropy.  With names like Harriett Beecher Stowe, a former resident and Andrew Carnegie, who funded the library, there are deep roots in the historical foundation.  And community organizations like the soup kitchen at the Geiger House, the recycling and sustainability efforts at the Work Resource Center and the youth engagement program between the YMCA and Camp Ernst, are dedicated to maintaining the community’s heart and soul. And through businesses like Amphora Studios, a pottery co-op and The Monastery, a church converted into a recording studio by an original member of the band Over The Rhine, Walnut Hills is alive and well in their arts and culture.

Join us on Saturday, April 10th from 9:30 to 3:30, as we explore these unique stories of Walnut Hills and learn more on the revitalization efforts that we touched upon during the Sounding Sessions in February.  In addition, we will also take one hour of the day to get our hands dirty with a clean-up project in the community.  Lunch will be provided and we will end the day with a community block party!  We hope you can join us!

Blazing Trails

Are you ready for EXTREME volunteering???

If you like hiking and working in your yard, why not take both to the extreme with Give Back Cincinnati? Join Give Back Cincinnati on Saturday, April 24th as we help CORA complete the trail in Northern Kentucky at Devou Park. All of your help will do more than build trails; it will increase attendance at the park, and bring more people into the surrounding communities. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to keep you fueled during the day, and a relaxing after party will be immediately follow the event. We hope to see you out on the trails as we switch gears from our normal events, and take it to the extreme!

For more information about CORA, you can visit their website at:  www.joinomba.org/cora . Once you are there you can learn about their background, their mission, and about other trails in the area. Also, if you want to get more information from them, you can sign up for their newsletter to get all of the latest news going on in the local mountain biking community.

Registration will open in NEXT WEEK! – Check back often to make sure that you reserve your spot!
