Community Conversations: Wrap-up
Our July 17 forum
focused on child abuse and neglect. The
local abuse hotline, 241-KIDS, received more than 67,000 phone calls
in 2006. More than 6,000 of those calls resulted in case worker
assignments, and in 99 percent of cases, the abuse stopped when the
child was paired with a volunteer court-appointed special advocate.
