Members' Choice - Gorman
Heritage Farm
We collected many great
ideas over the past few months and narrowed
the choices down to three events. You
then voted and provided a clear answer as a
super majority of votes collected were for
one event.... Gorman Heritage Farm!!
On Saturday
September 18th we will be heading into
Reading to Gorman Heritage Farm. The
volunteer activities for the day will range
from trail building all the way to getting
the barn ready for the winter. This
amazing place is truly a hidden gem in our
city. You turn off of Reading Rd. to
find yourself whisked back in time to a
place when your ability to understand the
balance in nature and farming were vital to
each person's existence. Goats,
chickens, pigs, a sunflower garden, a full
farm, a hiking trail with spectacular views
of the valley... it is all truly impressive.
Come to volunteer to make a difference and I
can guarantee that you will not leave
without learning many new things about
nature, farming, and our region of the
country.
Registration will open
up next week so look for the RSVP link to
appear on our website.

The Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. OTR Makeover
This past Saturday about 200 volunteers spread
out throughout Over-the-Rhine to perform various
beautification projects. A large group worked
up at the Glencoe site with Keep Cincinnati
Beautiful while another groups worked at various
points on Race St. with Keep Cincinnati beautiful.
We had groups working within the Brewery District
and at the Emery Theater doing some clean up and
painting at the respective sites. And, lastly, we
had a two groups working with Findlay Market
performing beautification projects around the market
properties and working in the urban garden on Elm
and Liberty.
The shear volume of work completed is just
astounding. We owe a great deal of thanks to
each group that we worked with to complete this
project. The Christian Moerlein Brewing
Co. as the event sponsor was extremely
gracious in helping us with this event and then the
added bonus of having their delicious beers at the
after party. Noodles & Co.
generously donated many lunches, Vitamin Water
provided relief for many thirsty volunteers during
the event, our friends at Frequency 94.1
stopped by with movie passes for our volunteers who
worked so hard throughout the day, and Findlay
Market provided many delightful snacks and
coupons to our volunteers. Many thanks to
these specific event sponsors for their donations.
We also must thank our partners who made much of
this work possible - Keep Cincinnati Beautiful,
Findlay Market, the Brewery District and the Emery
Theater. thank you for your help in organizing
and executing this event!!
Lastly... thank you to our former president
Jared Simmons and his band, That
Certain Something, for playing our
after party celebration at Findlay Market.

Littering is Wrong Too!!
Popping the question after
your first date is wrong. Like... forever wrong.
So is breaking up with someone on Valentine's
Day.
Well, littering is wrong, too. Yet people still
do it.
The
campaign, “Littering is Wrong Too” takes a unique
and light hearted approach to get attention and be
remembered. It links littering with wrongdoing,
while also defining the personality of the litterer
as a socially unaccepted jerk and vilifies the
choice they make to litter.
The campaign Website,
www.LitteringIsWrongToo.org
is packed with ways to get involved. You can even
come up with your own campaign ad by “writing your
wrong”. Check out the site, submit and vote for your
favorite “wrong”, pledge your support and share the
campaign with your online networks.
