Members' Choice - Gorman
Heritage Farm
We collected many great
ideas over the past few months and narrowed
the choices down to three events. You
then voted and provided a clear answer as a
super majority of votes collected were for
one event.... Gorman Heritage Farm!!
On Saturday
September 18th we will be heading into
Evendale to Gorman Heritage Farm. The
volunteer activities for the day will range
from trail building all the way to getting
the barn ready for the winter. This
amazing place is truly a hidden gem in our
city. You turn off of Reading Rd. to
find yourself whisked back in time to a
place when your ability to understand the
balance in nature and farming were vital to
each person's existence. Goats,
chickens, pigs, a sunflower garden, a full
farm, a hiking trail with spectacular views
of the valley... it is all truly impressive.
Come to volunteer to make a difference and I
can guarantee that you will not leave
without learning many new things about
nature, farming, and our region of the
country.
Register here for the event!
The event will take
place from 8:30 AM until 1:30 PM and will
include breakfast, lunch, and a great after
party onsite at Gorman Farm. This is
the last hands-on event of the year until
"Back to School" in 2011 FYI.

Give Back Leadership Recruitment:
As the summer
passes and the year moves into the final quarter,
the opportunities within Give Back Cincinnati become
endless for 2011. In October we will be
seeking the best of the best as we build our
leadership teams for the 2011 year of events.
We will be looking for folks to be on committees
that vary from PR to the Treasury, event leaders,
program committees, and executive board positions.
If you are interested in having a greater
participation within Give Back Cincinnati, please
keep your eyes open for details in the coming weeks.
We are 100% volunteer staffed, hence we need folks
of all levels of commitment, specialties, and areas
of passion for Cincinnati. We hope you will
consider us as you consider your goals for 2011 and
beyond.

Littering is Wrong Too!!
Popping the question after
your first date is wrong. Like... forever wrong.
So is breaking up with someone on Valentine's
Day.
Well, littering is wrong, too. Yet people still
do it.
The
campaign, “Littering is Wrong Too” takes a unique
and light hearted approach to get attention and be
remembered. It links littering with wrongdoing,
while also defining the personality of the litterer
as a socially unaccepted jerk and vilifies the
choice they make to litter.
The campaign Website,
www.LitteringIsWrongToo.org
is packed with ways to get involved. You can even
come up with your own campaign ad by “writing your
wrong”. Check out the site, submit and vote for your
favorite “wrong”, pledge your support and share the
campaign with your online networks.
