Urban
Renewal: Four Stories
Want to know the real deal about what’s
going on with development in downtown
Cincinnati? From the banks project, to
the Gateway Corridor, to the streetcar
to the redevelopment of Washington Park
and the casino, there is a lot of
activity going on with our urban core
that is creating change in our
community.
Give Back Cincinnati has gathered a
distinguished group of speakers to
provide the inside scoop on these and
other projects, and an analysis
of impact these changes are having on
our community.
Join us for a panel and roundtable
discussion featuring:
-
Roxanne
Qualls—Vice Mayor of Cincinnati
-
Stephen
Leeper—CEO of Cincinnati Center City
Development Corp. (3CDC)
-
Thomas
Dutton—Professor of Architecture &
Community Engagement at
Miami
University
-
Mike
Moroski—President and Co-Founder of
Choice’s Café in Over the Rhine
The event will be held from 6:30-8:30pm on
Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Venue 222, located
at 222 East 14th Street in
Over-the-Rhine.

Registration for Young at Heart
Now Closed
The first interactive event of the year,
Young at Heart, is quickly approaching –
and registration is already full! Thank
you to all of our members who signed up
for the event; you will receive final
details in a confirmation email next
week. If you do not receive the email,
or if you’d like to be placed on the
waiting list to volunteer, please
contact Tricia Giessler at
membership@givebackcincinnati.org.
For those of you who were able to
register, here are a few details to be
aware of:
-
Date: Saturday Feb. 12, 2011
-
Time: 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.
-
Location:
St. Paul Lutheran Village, 5515 Madison
Rd. in Madisonville. Parking is limited,
so we are encouraging members to meet at
the Wal-Mart on Red Bank Road to carpool
to the event.
-
What to wear: Nice casual
-
What you’ll do: We’ll play casino games
and bingo, share stories and bring
smiles to the faces of senior citizens
with limited resources.
-
After party: At the Pig & Whistle
(formerly Mulligan’s) on Madison Road in
Hyde Park. Expect yummy appetizers and
delicious drink specials!
-
Please also note: we’d like volunteers
to bring old movies (DVD and VHS; PG-13
and under) and books to donate to St
Paul’s. They are low on these items and
would love a few “new” items to freshen
up their supply.
Again, if you registered for this event,
you’ll receive a follow up email
confirming these and additional details…
so keep your eyes on your inbox!
