What is happening this week:

Urban Renewal: Four Stories

On February, 23rd, 75 people gathered at Venue 222 for Give Back Cincinnati’s first Sounding Session of the year. The event, Urban Renewal: Four Stories, and special guests 3CDC’S Stephen Leeper, Choices Café’s Mike Moroski, Cincinnati Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls, and Miami University’s Timothy Dutton shared their vision and experiences to an eager crowd.

The discussion centered on urban renewal projects around downtown Cincinnati and Over the Rhine and the effect it has on both the existing residents and newcomers. After the panel discussion, those in attendance broke up into small groups to further engage in the discussion, and were joined by the panelists to dive deeper into the issues presented.

Guests were treated to appetizers graciously provided by the recently reopened ZZ’s Pizza. After the event, many of the attendees walked a few blocks to the after party at Milton’s Prospect Hill Tavern, where new and old friends continued to discuss how they can impact their community.

Thanks to all in attendance for being open to a fascinating discussion on this important issue and to our panel members for providing their thoughts on Cincinnati’s urban core.

If you missed out on getting involved with all the fun and engagement, our next event is right around the corner! We will be doing a community immersion event in Westwood. Stay tuned for details because you are not going to want to miss out!
