Attention, Give Back Cincinnati Members! GBC is pleased to announce that we have been selected as a finalist in Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program. What that means is this: On Saturday, June 4, GBC will have the opportunity to win a brand-spanking-new Toyota vehicle. With your help, we'll get there!
More information will follow in the coming weeks about a very special voting party to take place the afternoon of June 4... so stay tuned. And in the mean time, feel free to check out our sweet video entry, share this information with your friends, and mark your calendar to VOTE GBC on June 4.
Paint the Town: Is it more than just a fresh coat of paint?
That will be the topic of discussiong during Give Back Cincinnati's next sounding session, to be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 6:30 p.m. With the Paint the Town right around the corner (and Prep the Town taking place this weekend!), we thought the time was right to take an in-depth look at one of GBC's signature events.
We will be joined by representatives of the communities of Bellevue and Dayton, KY (the sites of Paint the Town 2011), as well as leaders of the effort from Give Back Cincinnati and previous Paint the Town events. Attendees will enjoy a panel presentation and group discussion; light appetizers will be provided. After the event, we'll head to a local watering hole to continue to conversation.
Registration is limited, so we encourage you to sign up today.
This is your last chance to volunteer for our first-ever Prep the Town event, which will see all 39 Paint the Town homes prepped in a single day. Join approximately 200 other volunteers in scraping, scrubbing and priming each home for their big day... it will be a great deal of work, however it is always a blast to see the transformation of the homes.
Breakfast, lunch and a prep day t-shirt will be provided... and of course, there will be an after party at The Reef in Dayton. Care to join us? Click here to register.
Meet Member Johnny Krehbiel
From time to time, we like to profile some of the peoplel who make us who we are. We continue our series of volunteer profiles with Johnn Krehbiel, a 'Nati native and Miami graduate.
Tell us a little about yourself: Are you originally from Cincinnati? Where did you go to college?
I am from Cincinnati, and graduated from Indian Hill High School. I went to college at Miami University, and graduated with a degree in Finance. I now live in Mt. Lookout with my wife Jenny (we're Miami Mergers) and work for The C J Krehbiel Co (a printing company in Cincinnati).
How did you first hear about Give Back Cincinnati, and what inspired you to join us for an event? Which event was your first event?
I actually first heard about GBC while I was at Miami. There was a speaker who came and talked about GBC to a business organization that I was in. I just remember thinking "Man, when I graduate I have to check them out." It wasn't until a couple years had passed by that I finally ended up joining my first event. All I can say now is that I regret not doing it sooner! One great part of GBC is that it blends service and social activities. GBC is a great way for young professionals to make a positive impact on the community while having a fun time meeting cool, like-minded people. [Click here to continue reading.]
