Here's what's happening this week:

Last Call: Roll on the River with Us!

This is your last chance to register for “Don’t Rock the Boat," which will be held this coming Saturday, August 13. We’ll be paddling down the Great Miami River, cleaning up the waters and the shoreline in preparation for Paddling Fest. We have a lot of miles to cover, and it’s going to be a fairly labor-intensive event, however, we know it will be a great time!

For those who prefer to keep their feet on solid ground, don't fret! We have plenty of land to clean up around the river as well. We'll even have contests for the biggest/weirdest pieces of trash that we can find, and winners will be announced and prizes will be given out at the after party.

Registration closes this week! You can sign up and find even more info about what to expect  over at our website. [Click here for more info...]

Registration Now Open for Give Back CHALLENGE!

You've Painted the Town... and then, you've cleaned it up. Now it's time to celebrate the end of summer with the Annual Give Back Cincinnati Challenge!

On Saturday, August 27th, Give Back Cincinnati will be hosting a Downtown Scavenger Hunt Challenge for all of our Give Back members. The scavenger hunt and city crawl will include stops at some of Cincinnati's most historic buildings, celebrated non-profits, interesting businesses and several of its coolest bars. Let's pat ourselves on the back for a job well done this summer and enjoy some Cincinnati trivia, cuisine and adult beverages.

While it's a prize in itself to run around the city with old and new friends, learning fun facts about Cincinnati... we've found some excellent sponsors to donate prizes for the winning teams!

How does a team win these awesome prizes? Registration will open at 11:00 a.m., and by Noon, you'll be sent on your way to begin collecting points! Teams will be asked to have at least one member with a smart phone or digital camera to take pictures of your team as you find the various locations by answering fun, but challenging questions about the Queen City. [Click here fore more info...]

Shining the Spotlight on a Fuel Cincinnati Grant Recipient

CincyCoworks, founded in 2009 & funded by Fuel in 2011, creates space for freelancers to use their creative energy and addictive personalities to complete their work. Coworks’ purpose is to advocate for and support self-employed professionals, and incite creativity, opportunity, and learning by gathering people with ideas. Members are solo-preneurs that missed having coworkers for water cooler chat, impromptu lunches, idea sharing, informal networking, but didn’t miss the cubes and corporate culture.

Since being funded by Fuel, Cincy Coworks has grown! The success that Fuel looks for in a new idea is that we’re able to fund the risky, new, brilliant ideas that fail hard, but with a lot of passion and lessons learned. The other cool part is that Fuel continues to provide funding, connections and resources to a number of impressive ideas that create success and continue be the do-gooders in the community which they’ve tripled their size. Cincinnati Coworks is located at 2400 Gilbert Avenue in Cincinnati, OH, in a 2,000 square foot light-filled loft. It is on the 2nd floor of an historic 1926 building in the Walnut Hills neighborhood. The space is a creative wealth of shared areas including a roof-top terrace, a kitchenette and two conference rooms.

Cincy Coworks has hosted Fuel Brainstorming events for new community ideas and continues to inspire the community. You can find out more at www.cincycoworks.com. Follow them on Facebook or Twitter, and see how their vision continues to impress us at Fuel.

Fuel is a program of Give Back Cincinnati… and you can find out more on our website at www.fuelcincinnati.org.
