Background:

After volunteering at a number of Give Back events, Jay joined the operational board in 2005 as the board’s Vice President. In 2006 and 2007 Jay served as operational board President. During Jay’s time on the board the organization focused on membership growth taking the organization over the 3,000 member mark. The organization also added Lily Pad and the Fall Feast. In 2008 and 2009 Jay served on the Advisory Board.

What GBC means to me:

Give Back Cincinnati means a lot to both my wife and I because we met through our involvement in the organization. The organization has also introduced me to friends that I know I will have throughout my life. The organization recruits a unique people, willing to sacrifice their time and efforts to make the city a better place without the need to be recognized for their efforts…it’s what makes the organization special to me.

What I do for GBC:

Jay currently is the Program Lead for Fuel, a Give Back Cincinnati program designed to provide funding and support to ideas that develop and focus on young professionals in Cincinnati. Check us out at fuelcincinnati.org.

Fun Fact:

In 2006 I lived in downtown Honolulu for a five month work project. Those five months were January – May. Not a bad way to miss a Cincinnati winter.
